“METRUM” supports a conference devoted to spatial development planning

„Law on Spatial Development Planning and the related Cabinet of Ministers regulations have been effective in Latvia as of 2012. Nevertheless, the sector’s professionals have not had the chance to come together although there is an urgent need in discussing the topical problems and issues. If those were solved, it would certainly attract investments to economy of Latvia, emphasizes Martins Truksans, Head of Spatial Planning Branch of “METRUM”.The list of speakers at the conference includes professionals representing the Ministry of Environment Protection and Regional Development, the Latvian State Land Service, IT company “Tieto Latvija”, the tax and financial consulting company “BDO Tax”, the land survey and spatial planning specialists of the company “METRUM”. As noted by the conference organizers, a great benefit for all the spatial planning-related professionals will be the chance to learn the experience of Mr.John Burrows, an experienced architect from London. He has participated in a wide range of international tenders and has implemented projects of more than 40 shopping malls, recreation and entertainment centres, as well as multi-functional complexes in the Baltic States, European, Asian, and African countries.The conference „Planning procedure – driver for or obstacle to development?” is organized by the Latvian Real Estate Association LANĪDA in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment Protection and Regional Development, and the State Land service. The event is sponsored by the company “METRUM”. The conference will take place on Wednesday, May 29th, from 10:00 to 17:00, at the hotel „Islande Hotel”, Riga.
