“METRUM” has concluded a contract for large-scale aerial photographing and laser-scanning in the Canary Islands

In the course of the project flights covering the entire 7500 km² wide island territory and high-definition aerial photographing, as well as laser scanning of the earth’s surface is planned. An aircraft and the equipment at the disposal of METRUM allow simultaneously capturing of both photo and laser data, thus significantly increasing the productivity of the capturing process. The captured aerial photo and the laser scanning data will be used for producing varied map data for the needs of the administration of Canary Islands. It is planned to carry out the project within the next 2 months.Currently METRUM is working strenuously on a project connected with laser scanning of the terrain in Lithuania, within the framework of which in cooperation with a Danish company it is planned to carry out flights covering the entire territory of Lithuania within 2 years. As a part of this project this year METRUM has already carried out laser-scanning flights over more than 8000 km² of the entire territory of Lithuania.METRUM has been providing aerial photographing and laser-scanning services in the Baltic States and European market since 2007. Before that METRUM had implemented multiple aerial photographing and laser-scanning projects in Romania, Finland, Estonia, as well as here in Latvia.Specialists from the company have also implemented various innovative products which are produced by using laser-scanning and aerial photographing data, including the creation of a map of airport aerial obstacles, for monitoring of extraction of mineral deposits, creating multiple 3D and textured models and changes of the capacity of a waste disposal site, etc.
