Forest monitoring

Information on trees, vegetation and surface under them at the specific area is essential in forest resource management. The aim of forest monitoring is to evaluate forest's health condition, its changes and to determine air pollution and influence of other environmental factors to the forest ecosystems. Information on the height of the trees, growing density, division of conifer and deciduous tree territories, and volume of damaged territories is obtained by laser scanning data, processed by specific software. Metrum has an aircraft with high resolution camera and laser scanner that is used to fly over territory in order to make aertophotos, perform laser scanning and process data obtained.
