Choosing wind park location

Exhaustion of natural resources leads to planning new energy production. Wind energy has a great potential but its production depends on good choice of an appropriate site. It is important to consider characteristics of the surrounding environment, wind directions, landscape and human factors. Wind parks and wind generators are not movable items therefore, it is essential to choose the most appropriate location.

Detailed plan of the surroundings is taken into consideration to choose the placement. The plan is produced by performing laser scanning and creating 3D terrain models and precise wind measurements for the period of at least one year. Landscape modelling is performed by 3D terrain models. Metrum aircraft is used to do land laser scanning. Data are processed with specific software making 3D terrain models.
