‘’METRUM’’ has commenced the development of territorial plan modifications for Griškānu rural municipality of Rēzekne region

Currently, within the framework of modifications development, the first stage of public discussion has been announced, which will continue through April 3, and during which the inhabitants, landowners, businessmen and other interested persons will be able to submit their suggestions and propositions to the local government.Modifications in the territorial plan of Griškānu rural municipality are required, as the previously developed plan no longer complies with the regulations issued by the Cabinet of Ministers No. 883 («Territorial planning regulations of local government») of 2004, which prescribe several changes, for instance, in the regulations of construction. «Griškānu rural municipality, which is located in the south-eastern part of Rēzekne region, is among the Rēzekne rural municipalities with rapid economical development. The amounts of construction and real estate transactions – land purchasing, selling, dividing and merging – are ever increasing here. The previous construction regulations have grown out-of-date, and therefore a need to develop modifications of the territorial plan has appeared,» says Terēzija Kruste, ‘’METRUM’’ territorial planning department manager of Latgale region. ‘’METRUM’’ will develop the modifications by evaluating the current rural municipality territorial planning, and taking into account the development strategy of the rural municipality. At present, terms of territorial planning modifications development have been requested from the agencies indicated in the work task, and information has been requested from State Land Service and Geospatial Information Agency of Latvia.In April, an ad hoc group for modifications development will be created, which will include high experts and members of Griškānu rural municipality council, and group discussions will be held to evaluate the prospects of the territory utilization, discuss the village borders and other issues.As stipulated by the law, ‘’METRUM’’ plans to hand the first edition of Griškānu rural municipality territorial planning modifications for public discussion in the August of this year. It is planned to complete the modifications development by the end of the year.In total, ‘’METRUM’’ is currently developing seven territorial plans in Latgale. Five of them – in Rēzekne region.
